Bobby grew up in Oxford, Georgia where he attended Oxford College of Emory University.  He graduated from this two-year school in 1973, receiving the Philosophy Award along with his Associate of Arts.

Bobby then attended Emory University where he played for the school tennis team.  He graduated with a Batchelor of Arts in Philosophy in 1975.  He went on to Candler School of Theology, earning a Masters of Divinity in 1979.  He then served as a full-time minister for the United Methodist Church for six years.

With a hunger to practice law, Bobby entered Georgia State University College of Law.  He juggled his coursework with being a father to his two young sons.  He participated in Jessup International Moot Court and graduated with his law degree in January of 1990.

For the first three years following law school Bobby worked for the law firm Webb, Carlock, Copeland, Semler and Stair where he obtained lots of courtroom experience.  He spent a year as a contract attorney for a small firm in Atlanta before going out on his own in 1993.  He has not looked back since.
